I was talking about the word "ironic," not shmuck. I was referring to the Alanis Morissette song where she sings about things that are not technically ironic and has, due to my generation's mass consumption of all things jagged little pill, permanently ruined any chance we had to correctly use the term. I believe they also misuse the word in Reality Bites, but what're ya gonna do? These things have plagued my career as an English major. Now everything that is funny or weird is ironic.
Believe me, I am fully aware of what exactly a shmuck is...
