While I do agree with your assessment (and the nagging doubt that this might be a put-on), signing off with "long live..." kinda makes it all funny.
Like if the president came on TV, and warned of an impending oil embargo in stern tones, and cautioned the nation of the hard times to come.. Then the camera paned down to reveal that he was not wearing any pants.
