Hey Kevin, Scott and the View Askew Crew,
First off, I don't know who at View Askew actually reads these posts, but oh well, should make for some interestin' reading for those that do...I just came from hanging out at the local Chapters on Bloor St (in Toronto) and thought I'd make use of the 'after hours' library...anyways, I go there once in awhile to get 'inspiration' for what I do - because no one really believes in what I do - not even my family...I made a film, and in my opinion is a pretty cool little flick that gives a hint of what I could do as a filmmaker (considering my budget)...And I came across a few books...I understand that Kevin and Scott screened Clerks at IFFM and met an interesting fella in Bob Hawke...I understand word got around and next thing you know...you guys are sundancing...then, I came across another book...John Pierson, another interesting fella, who chatted with Kevin - got me to thinking about potential directions for where I should bring my film...but, alas I am at a stall...Mr. Pierson is no longer playing this game...I guess what I'm looking for is just some good, honest, straight-shooting advice that I just can't find at a local Chapters.
