So why does he buy more cigs when he loses the original butt? Is he hoping the original kitty's soul will be in a new butt? Why does he assume the soul would leave the original butt after he lost it? The kitty's soul is probably still in the first butt, just lying in a gutter somewhere. And why would he assume the soul would jump from butt to butt? I mean, if it jumped from the kitty to a cigarette butt, why not jump to another arbitrary object, like a gum wrapper?
Sorry to shoot holes in your story you were so proud of. Just some questions I had.
