Film Four were merely the UK distributor for Dogma. They had no hand in the production of the film. I believe it's a similar deal with Lions Gate who got the rights after Miramax backed out of releasing it. I'm pretty sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but if I'm right neither company had anything to do with the production of the film... merely the distribution of it.
