I was at the Q&A Kevin gave at Emporia State back in November on Election Night. Giving backstory here for everyone, so bear with me:
About halfway through Kevin's cell phone rings. He answers it, holds it up to the mike, and has the girl on the other end repeat herself: "This is so-and-so from the California Democratic Convention, and we were just wanting to know if you voted for Al Gore tonight." After she and Kevin go back and forth for awhile, she asks "If you HAD BEEN in California, would you have voted for Al Gore?" Kevin says "FUCK NO" really loud, and then gets quiet, says "Ok, I'm gonna hold the phone up to the microphone and I want you to repeat what you just told me." So he holds the phone up to the mike and so-and-so from the Democratic committee says "Hi, this is Jen, Kev's wife! GOTCHA!!" Very funny.
If you're still here, Jen, I'm pretty sure that was staged, otherwise Kevin would've recognized your voice. Was it? Either way, props for delivering one of the night's many highlights.
