Well, they're just different. They had to be a radical departure because they couldn't talk all raw about chicks and make dick and fart jokes. They had to change the style, just keeping the characters and I thought it worked. It was an experiment, I guess, and some liked it and some didn't. A friend of mine didn't like the cartoon for the same reason you said. I just told myself to accept that Dante and Randal were in a wackier world and it had no real relation to the Askewniverse. Since the cartoon isn't in the continuity, it was easier. It's just a different animal. I thought it worked, but I see where you're coming from.
