Yeah, of course it was deliberate. Don't you get it ? Its the very first episode so when they say "...previously on 'Clerks'..." well, there was no "previously" so they show the color bars, its off air. And at the end it says "...next week on 'Clerks'..." it shows the color bars again, as a joke- like their going to be cancelled and the next show won't happen, it'll be off air. Ok ?
