: Yeah, it's me again. I had let the whole situation from the other night
go. It was gone. Then me and Mr. Jim Beam got to thinkin'. I still
don't understand. I just don't. I guess the only way that I would, is if I
were in the same business as you. I just don't understand how
someone fortunate enough to get to act in movies for a living could
get upset about some awards. But, then again, I guess it's not totally
about these specific awards as much as it's about the fact that the
film just didn't get quite as much recognition as you felt it deserved.
(a point I happen to agree with you on, but THAT is neither here nor
there) If I'm wrong about that then feel free to correct me. The only
explanation I have for my actions is, that I felt you were taking your
fortunate position of being a professional (successful) actor for
granted. I see now that that's probably not the case at all. But damn
it, when I first read your original post all I could think was, "This lucky
bastard, is bitchin' about some fucking awards?!?!". I was just like,
"There are children all over this country, homeless and starving and
this guy's pissed about some awards!!!". "ARE YOU FUCKING
KIDDING ME!!!". Man, you might as well had come over here and
kicked my momma in the mouth. That's the best way I know how to
explain why I did what I did. I do , however, appreciate you taking so
much time to explain your stance on the matter to me. That I do
appreciate, very much. Very much. I guess, in the end, we just have
to agree to disagree on the matter. G'day Mr. Lee.

Cool post, Arron. Yeah, you got it right this time. I just wanted the film
to get the kind of recognition that I feel it deserves, that's why I was
disappointed when it didn't get nominated for best picture by the
Academy. In the end, it doesn't really matter, but I thought it would be
nice. I just thought it would be another nice acknowledgment for the
film. AF is still a great film and has inspired a lot of people, and that
is all that really matters. And, no, this never, in anyway, had anything
to do with my taking what I have for granted. I am the furthest thing
from a spoiled actor you could imagine. I made myself a promise on
the set of Mallrats almost 7 years ago that I would NEVER take this
acting thing I was getting into for granted. I promised to never abuse it
or get too used to it. And, besides, that's not the kind of person I am
anyway. I'm sure you already know that about me, though. Well, it was
good chatting with you. NEVER any hard feelings. You were right to
speak up. There's nothing wrong with voicing one's opinions the way
you did. Take care. I'll see you around!

Jason.
