I'd have to say this was my least favorite of all the VA Commentaries, simply because it was pretty much the "Kevin and Ben Show." Now this is not to say I didn't enjoy it, but what I always loved about the other commentaries was the colaberative effort. Even Mosier seemed more quiet in this one than any other. Not to mention some of the other dudes, like the Mirimax exec Jon Gordon.

Ahh well. I thought most Ben's comments were funny, including all the heavy handed jabs to Kevin's filming style (or lack of). However, I think these jabs help us see that Kevin is a director who cares about the characters and their interaction, not elaborte swooshes or pans.

All in all, here's my opinion:

Chasing Amy: the strongest View Askew film, the weakest commentary.

Mallrats: the weakest View Askew film, the most entertaining commentary.
