I just looked at IATSE's website (that's the union of most technical staff in film, at least that's the impression I get) Unfortunetly they don't list specific salaries on any of the job postings, but it might ne worth calling one of the West Coast offices to see if they'd be willing to help you.
There are offices in Hollywood and LA, as well as Toronto and other film centers. If you call a couple you might get someone who'd be willing to really help you out. I'll put the link to their main site below and you can check it out.
