Yes there is Optimus Prime, but after he is killed (in the movie) he transfers the matrix of leadership to Ultra Magnus. He loses it to the enemy (Galvertron). When Hot Rod gets it back, uses it to save the day and effectively becomes leader of the Autobots he 'upgrades' to Rodimus Prime.
So there are both.
