Apparently the episode on last night was a new one, which shows how much I know. As to your question, I would much prefer to see Kevin write an episode as opposed to a whole series - just the one classic.
On this topic, I know Kevin won't answer this, but I wonder how difficult it would be for him to write for something that has such established dialogue patterns? I know there are more writers on it than just Chris Carter, but I'd be interested to know if Kevin felt he might be restricted by having to write in a certain way, as opposed to having a free rein.
Another subject I know nothing on - is there an X-Files comic? I could see Kevin writing one of those, or perhaps even a graphic novel in a Watchmen-stylee. Much more freedom of expression and opportunity for plot development in one of those (and not having to take over the show in order to get a longer story in).
