No, you do not sound like an Old Maid...what you sound like is a fan-boy with an Ivory Tower mentality.
I get a queazy feeling in my stomach whenever anyone refers to anyone else as the subject of a sentence with a modifier like "Greatness".
as in "The greatness of Kevin"
It smacks of an unhealthy case of Agape.
Do not misunderstand...I believe Kevin's work is great. In fact I am a fan
of excellence. I love to see excellence...in all facets of everyday life.
I believe Kevin has acheived excellence in his work and I appreciate his
loyalty to his fans and all of his endeavours. Those I have been fortunate
to see that is.
I'm not trying to shred Silent-Bob or mean him any insult.
I just get a little teed off when someone will step on others to elevate
himself above a crowd.
