: There is no way that 16 is too young for Kevin's movies.

I didn't mean that they're too vulgar for people in that age group. I just think that the movies deal with issues that don't directly apply to the average 16-year old (or at least shouldn't).

:16 is actually in the age group that they're targted for.

Hardly. They're geared more toward twentysomethings, early thirtysomethings. Most of the relationship issues tackled in the films deal with growing past the immaturity of your teenage years.

:I think his movies connect with teens very well, and most of them aren't going to go running to thier parents because of a dick joke.

No offense, but most people your age only connect with Jay burning herb and talking about pussy. Look around this board if you doubt that. That might not be applicable to you, but you're giving your peers too much credit.

:Somehow people got the idea that anyone under 18 can't handle raunchy comedy

They certainly can.

:or, on another note, speak intelligently about things.

Most of them can't. Not all, but most. Most 16-year olds I meet are a bunch of halfwits whose sensibilities are more attuned to Fred Durst than to Kevin Smith. And these fucking dunderheads screw it up for the smart kids when assessments are made of the generation as a whole.
