: About "Dude, Where's My Car?" - You are missing the point ENTIRELY. DWMC
: was pointless, poorly put together, had a shitty plot, and was a film for
: those who laugh at complete stupidity. In short, it DID NOT BELONG IN A
: THEATER. Such is it's brilliance. It was a waste of money, because it was
: of poor quality. That's ONE of the reasons I LIKED it...

Well, since you have felt the need to lay the groundwork for the fantastic phrase "nonsense humor", it's hard to argue with your logic. It was a waste of money, and didn't belong in a theater, check. Well, can't deny that point.

: As for YOUR examples of "total nonsense humor": You are a fucking fool.
: BASEketball = Not nonsense humor. Airplane = Not nonsense humor. Those fall into a different catagory.

I'm a "fucking fool"? Hmmmmm. That was harsh. Well, this fool stands by his choices for actual nonsense humor. See, my definition, along with, I don't know, the rest of the world's, is that nonsense humor indicates that there are a great number of scenes or characters that are in a movie, or TV show, or a novel, or, to bring it to your level, coloring books, that are in the story simply because they're funny, nothing else. They don't add to the plot or character development, they're there to make the audience laugh. The randomness of said plots or characters add to the humor of it all. Again, this is just the rest of the world's definition, no reason for you to follow it.

: Let me approach this from a different angle: Humor that isn't SET UP, that doesn't follow a formula, that is, in fact, the OPPOSITE of general humor is what nonsense humor is defined as.

"The OPPOSITE of general humor is what nonsense humor is defined as". So the oppisite of what's funny is your defintion of funny. Now I can see where you're coming from, thank you.

POOP! PTTTHTTTTHPT!

Look! Nonsense humor!

I am going to cite an example from DWMC - When they goto a tailor and put on two custom Fila suits that they had apparently bought the night before, one pulls a dove out of his pocket. That is one example of what I am talking about. Or, there is a point in the movie when they goto a pizza shop. A man tosses some dough up into the air, and, in oppose to CATCHING it, it lands on his face and he simply stands there.

Ah yes, the ground breaking "guy throws the pizza dough in the air but doesn't catch it and it lands on his face" scene. So a scene that has been in every Pauly Shore and/or Patrick Dempsy movie is what you find funny. Huzzah to you, sir.

: In closing, don't knock a genre of humor that you don't fully grasp.

Allow me to inform you about what I "fully grasp". Nonsense Humor, I believe, got it's start in THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. The scenes that were in the story didn't add to a greater, coherent whole, they were random and dreamlike. That kickstarted the whole "nonsense humor" for lack of a better word, movement. The phrase was coined as a result of that book. Your examples from DUDE WHERE'S MY CAR have nothing to do with "nonsense humor", although the scene where the Cheshire Cat tosses up some pizza dough and SPLAT! it lands on his face makes me laugh to this day.

:You don't grasp it because you're looking for TOO much, when there is acually nothing behind the funny moment or the punchline that you just heard or saw. Those who seek reasoning do not like nonsense humor.

Okay. First of all, you're way off in what you're rambling about, and when you say I don't grasp it, you're speaking of something you know absolutely nothing about. I wouldn't go so far as to call you a "fucking fool" as that would be rude and unfunny (and you're doing so well proving you're that without my help), but not only am I the biggest fan of said comedy, I wrote a couple of scripts and wrote and directed a movie that wallow in it.

You would have come off much better if you just said "I found the movie funny, and that's my opinion". Instead you're coming off as stupid as a movie without a scene wherein a guy throws pizza dough up in the air and fails to catch it.

SPLAT! It lands on his face! Nonsense!

If you're gonna start calling names and shooting your mouth off, at least know what you're talking about.

And what's that on your face, boy? Oh yeah, a great deal of egg.
