: Hey Vincent,
: In recent posts, you said that A Better Place was shot with an Arriflex. R. Rodriguez has said that when he shot El Mariachi, the camera(another Arri) was very noisy. I was wondering if you had the same problem, if so, what did you do about it in terms of sound recording?
: All the best
: Cúán

The camera was very noisy, but I think Robert's was noisier- as I recall, he shot with a non-sync sound camera.

Anyway, it did cause some problems- we had a LOT of camera noise on our production dialogue tracks, and tried to mask it as best we could during the Skywalker remix. They did a pretty good job of it too, although you can still hear the camera in some scenes we added noises on top of it to try and explain it- like air conditioner sounds, fans, etc., things like that.

Vincent
