I was't insinuating a direct influence here. I was just drawing on the fact that the captions spell out "Jay."

Well, yeah!
Then again, the characters of Jay & Silent Bob were paired up before (I think) Kev. started to draw parallels between them and DC's own dynamic duo. That Jay & Bob were like Batman & Robin probably wasn't the original inspiration for the characters; it just grew out of the idea of a cartoonish duo.
Trust me, it's a stretch and a half that the animators on "RotJ" were thinking of ViewAskew, but, ah, Jesus, why am I bothering with an explanation?
