Okay so I'm a "newbie" (wtf is up with that anyway?, I hate the elitist "you're not
worthy" attitude, and I though AOL chatrooms were bad) ........anyway......
When I originally saw Mallratz way back when I laughed my ass off. The Movie is almost
an autobiography of my younger 16-22-ish "Daze" Hanging out at Willowbrook Mall (I'm
from Clifton NJ) and Fun 'n Games Arcade (okay well minus the Arcade, but the
security was always kicking our sorry asses out for not playing games).
We did literally refer to ourselves as "Mall-Rats", and the stuff about the rent-a-cops
(mall security) is true. In my earlier Animation/Comic Book Days I almost wrote and
drew an entire comic book on the concept, but like so many things I just kinda lost
interrest. I still have a theory that the guy that owned Fun 'n Games back then was in
the Mob, but I can niether confirm nor deny that.
I've gotta say that DOGMA is my all-time Favorite however. I own the damn VHS and
I've been watching it habitually (kinda scarey). It's sort of a Jay and Silent Bob version
of something like the old Python Flicks I.E. Monty Python and The Life of Brian or The
Holy Grail. My Favorite of Kevin Smiths New Jersey Chronicals thus-far.
Anyway how was everyones Christmas? Mine sucked..ran outta beer on sunday night, I
actually stayed sober for the whole damn day yesterday (Christmas Day) I didn't even
eat, no place open to order out from, and with my stove on the fritz, well impossible to
cook.
