The "Mallrats" commentary is a little unclear as to what was up with Ed.
In fact, I had to watch it a couple of times (Lord help me) to glean that Ben was talking about Ed ("He didn't like you; didn't like being in your film...") as opposed to the "creepy" Ethan Flower.
The reason I bring it up is that:
--I'd always figured that Ed was just a friend of yours and was wondering why he'd be bad-mouthing you on the flick and...
--...with all due respect to verve and subtle skill of "Mallrats," it seems a little backwards that someone would have a rotten time making the flick but then, as Ben insinuates, was simply happy to be in it later on.
Regarding Ethan's creepiness, care to elaborate, Vin?
Also, I've always thought that the moment when Bob turns profile and makes as if to swat the "difficult" kid was kinda harsh...and yet, considering how profiles can distort one's expression, was Kev. kinda smiling at that kid or was he really giving him some master-thesp. method-attitude?
