I am just trying to get internships right now with the understanding that it is highly unlikely to catch a big break right away and that the next couple years of my life are going to consist of working 13 hour days with shitty pay. But that is okay because it is what I will want to do-- play-by play that is.
I read a really good book by Tom Hedrick a couple weeks ago. He called a couple Super Bowls and Cotton Bowls. The book is called "The Art of Sportscasting," and even has a chapter on shows like Sportscenter and breaking into the market. It was very helpful. I would suggest checking it out on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
