Do you realise just how much his movies have reflected my own life? I WAS fucking Dante in CLERKS slaving at a shitty job no one cared about. I WAS Holden/Brodie. I worked for the biggest ( best ) comic shop in America ( Jim Hanley's Universe, thanks for coming) and my Boss ( Jim ) hated ALL OF HIS STAFF AND TOLD US WE SUCKED AS EMPLOYEE'S. ( yet we all worked there for a min. 8 yrs) I am a fallen alter boy that lost his faith and had it reaffirmed in the DOGMA principal. And to top it off I am a frustrated homosexual just like Banky.......um.......wait......ah....not really....just......caught up....you know.......shit.
Anyway I went to school and I am sweating it out in a shitty cable station ( STATEN ISLAND CABLE Member of the Evil TIME WARNER/AOL empire) just so I can use their shitty AVID on a project I have toiled over FOR THE LAST FIVE FUCKING YEARS!!!
I am doing it the right way. Not sniveling around and trying to be cute. Grow some nads and put it on your credit card. Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Matty Rich, Robert Townsend, David Lynch are all names of people that DID IT THEMSELVES. I'd add Ed Burns but anyone on the ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT set most likely didn't have it all that bad.
I relate and ( unfortunatly) have lived Kevin's work. Therefore I use it as inspiration. Not as a job application. Good luck kid. May we see BRIEFCASE BLUES on the screen at the same time we see A BRIGHTER TODAY ( mine)
