Ya got a drunk Lynch, the box set coming out, some idiots thinking it's their duty now to egg some washed-up BratPack wannabes... and it's all lost in this "whoopie, lets post 20 questions to everyone just to be dicks" orgy. And all that interesting shit is buried.
Like I say, it's Kevin's board. He's said that they're going to try a freeform board again, like in the old days... and if that means Kevin wants people to stop self-policing, that's cool. It's his board to say that about.

You wanna know why I do the 'board cop' thing, as the popular hyperbole goes? Because I LIKE this place. I ENJOY this place. I ENJOY getting the inside dirt on Kevin's flicks and Vinnie's stuff and Malcolm's stuff and Bryan's and Brian's and Lee's... and on and on...
It's like a little extra supplement to my admittedly sometimes-useless film schooling. I go here, I get to read the real thoughts and events in the careers of the Viewaskew people... people all up and down the ladder and all over the spectrum of the entertainment industry.
Kevin, a successful writer/director, constantly straddling cult and mainstream success, finding ways to be both.
Vinnie, the indie auteur kinda guy, the builder of kickass DVDs.
Lynch, freelance comedy writer, making good bread and flirting with breaking out in a big way.
Malcolm, navigating the waters of switching from director to producer.
Brian's Vulgar busting out to distribution.
Lee, one or two good parts away from hitting real fuckin' stardom.
And Ethan and Mewes... the occasional Affleck cameo...
It's fucking fascinating. There's so many good fucking stories. So much neat shit about the entertainment field that I'd like to go into, if I can scam my foot in the door somehow...
Frankly, I come here for THAT, not to read someone give a shotout "Who from Houston in the house?" and then "Who dug Battlestar Galactica?" and "Everyone look at my website, I've cleverly paintshopped pictures of naked women into pictures of... naked superheroines!" and "Question 1. Double Stuffs or Oreos? Question 2. If you were a tree what kind would you be? Question 3. Who else heard Harry Knowles is playing Young Boba Fett in Ep2?"... and so on and so on.

Regardless of whatever the new superboard turns out to be... it behooves ya'll to not be off-topic, even if you CAN... because everytime there's a thread of "I'm cooler!" "No I'm cooler!" "Jean Grey's hot!" "Gillian Anderson's hotter!" "Look at my witty use of cApItAl LeTtErs!"... you're wasting the fucking coolass resource we've been given on this board.
Simply, it's the most access to a production company there'll ever be on a web board. Because NOT JUST do you get Kevin posting frequently (and very few people from hollywood even do that) but you get like 10 other damned interesting people from his flicks extended family on a regular basis.
And what do you do?
You fill the fucking thing with shout-outs and flame wars and requests for jobs and "boy was the picture on that girl's link off her post hot!"s and other such ninny shit that you could do ANYWHERE.
ANY chat room. ANY web-board. God forbid y'all do it with real people in, like, a bar or a coffee shop or something.
Back when there were 30-50 people around, it was different story... but 3,000 people can't be using this place as an appropos of nothing chatroom if we want to enjoy the really rare opportunity this board allows.
To ask questions on a regular basis, not just of a really interesting filmmaker... but most of his production company, recurrent actors and the filmmakers he exec-produces for as well!

It's just... when you're dealing with more than a handful of people, anarchy for anarchy's sake really sucks... especially when it buries something so fucking cool. I think that kind of shit is useless.
