Not so good in that banter in a chat room requires all parties to be in said chat room at the same time. Boards allow people on different schedules to interact, regardless of what time it is, their schedules, and their free time.
And as a former chataholic, I personally can't stand to be in a chat room anymore...and wonder how in the hell I sat there for so long at a shot before.
