Especially when the rules of said message board clearly state that one is not to ask for "special favors" (i.e. a job, interview, etc.) on the board.
There's no harm in using e-mail to "set up" an interview after proper introductions by phone or by letter, but the person in question was trying to conduct an interview by e-mail. A world of difference in my opinion.
: A "Real" journalist would NEVER attempt to gain an interview by posting a message on a public internet board. The process of finding Lee's reps and getting in touch with them is vital to the journalistic process.
: Besides - why do you think he pays those people? So he doesn't have to field requests like this all the time!

I've gone through your "proper channels" to get interviews. However, one of these said "proper channels" is e-mail, dumb ass. I could go through the process of finding Lee's reps, calling back and forth, charging money on my school's account for long distance, or......and get ready for this thought, it might be too much for you to handle, I could post an inquiry on a newsboard that Lee has a history of posting on anyway, and therefore save time and money.
