I totally agree with you. This board is awesome. The whole VA crew is awesome. Kevin really does go all out for his fans. It's nice to see filmmakers and actors who realize that their power lies in their fanbase. Hollywood doesn't seem to recognize the fact that the people who go to see the movies are the ones who give them those great box office numbers. If it wasn't for the fans (aka the common populace) there wouldn't be a reason for these people to make the films they do. Same goes for those big Hollywood actors and actresses. Their names and films are only popular because of the fans.
Can you imagine if some of the major Hollywood players did something like this? They'd probably double or triple their numbers. Just think of how many of us went to see Almost Famous because we heard about it on this board and it had Jason Lee in it.

: You know what's wild? This whole View Askew thing. I'm sure I didn't need to point that out to anyone here. But think about it, how many other production companies can say they're as tightly knit as VA? Look at this board - it's always visited by the writers, directors, producers, and actors. Someone is constantly on here from the VA family. And once you've made a VA film you stay in the family forever because you want to it seems. It's refreshing to see people make films because they are good, not because they want to make a shitload of money (even though I'm sure that can happen ;-)).
: What reason does Jason Lee or Ethan Suplee, or anyone in VA have to visit this board really? None, other than here is where the true fans hang out. All these guys answer any question thrown their way without hesitation. Most celebs would do just about anything NOT to do exactly what these guys love to do. Wild. I know everyone here already knows this but I felt I had to say a little something something after reading all the posts in the last 24 hours.
