: I was thinking about this today... do you write on a computer or longhand?
This is a really good question. I used to write in longhand, it was easier, quicker, etc. And then I was opening a can of catfood on a wall catfood can opener when the opener dropped the half opened can fell and severed my thumb (well, not severed, it was hanging off). The thumb was stitched up but there was nerve damage so now it's hard to write and draw so I use the computer.
Used to use screenplay styler but Warner Brother told me to use Final Draft 5.0 because most studios use that, and the WB contract actually has script format rules included in the contract, even has sample pages of how it should be done.
I do save every draft, too. Trust me, studios will have you change EVERYTHING and then go "no, let's go back to the first draft". This happened with THE NEXT MUPPET MOVIE and I hadn't saved it.
Hope this helps. And I swear, the thumb thing is true. Half of it is numb and the other half is super-sensitive to temperature, touch, etc. I'm super-powered.
