...historically, Electors were landed men of good standing who had the ABILITY to vote their conscience if they felt the popular vote was wrong, or misguided, but now being an elector is a titular honor only. All electoral votes in a state go to whomever wins the most votes within that state.

Personally, I hink that with today's technology, the need for electors and electoral votes becomes less pressing, and that each vote should count independently, and the cumulative counrty-wide popular vote should dictate the presidency.This would require an amendment, but so what? It's fairer, and more in step with a national democracy.

It would change how the campaigning went, and make each persons vote worth the same as the next. I'm in dinky 3 electoral vote-having-Connecticut. My vote technically counts less than someone's in NY.

And..um.. Banky could kick Walt Flanagan's ASS.
