I was planning a movie with the same plot as CLERKS called USHERS. I was going to shoot on Pixelvision and in a movie theater. My characters were called Randy and Dan. But then right before I started filming in my basement my brother was like "you are totally ripping of Kevin Smith." I didn't know what he was talking about so he showed me CLERKS. I didn't know what to do. I'd already ask my friends to be in the movie and written the script and secured a pixelvision camera.
I filmed the movie using shadow puppets and took it to Sundance. I couldn't get a room so I flew home. I detail this story at the webpage below which also has a picture of me and my friend Ryan who doesn't look like Kevin Smith but says fuck a lot. I ask him to punch me in the face but he said "no."
