Kevin ,I'm a University student studying and "trying" to practice Screenwriting in Sydney Australia. My MAJOR assignment is ...wait for it ...based on yourself and your writings.I would appreciate you answering a few questions that I believe only you can answer. So here goes!
What was your primary motivation to write and produce your first movie CLERKS? ie what messages did you want to be heard and do you think that your primary goal in that regard has been accomplished? Also what life experiences do you think drove you to want to convey that/those message/s?
I personally am most impressed with CHASING AMY, the dialogue is astounding and to me life lessons are notable.Do you have any desire to write something along the lines of this genre in the future?
Now to the biggie, I watched DOGMA with great interest and in my opinion you have a "Certain God View" that is not all too common or obvious in society.I could attempt to analyse that movie for ever, but again I need to know what your primary driving force to convey GOD and religiosity in your chosen format? Are you too.. sick of the nerdy, goofy wimpy image the world has given such a powerful and dynamic GOD?If so does this motivate you to write more of these message type movies in the future and do you feel that maybe your destiny lies in that?
Over all (money and lifestyle aside)do you feel that you have accomplished what you have set out to do?
