Days of future past was when the x-men stoped the assaination of senator kelley by some lady who could tell the future, i don't remember her name, but she was with the brotherhood and blob, pyro, and the gang helped her attack the senate or some such thing. The twist was that if not for the intervention of kitty pryde's sprit from the future, which warned the x-men of the assaination, the sentinals would eventually take over the US and kill all the x-men. In the series you see colossos, storm, and wolverine killed. All of them die defending kitty so that she has time to warn the x-men.
