They were buddy-buddy on the set of mallrats (her hanging out & smoking ciggs in his office together, stuff like that). They started dating around either post of mallrats, or right around the time of the premier not sure.
But they were dating LONG before chasing amy came about.....i mean good lord, she's one of, if not the inspiration for the film in the first place....
