In Reply to: What's your take on Matt and Ben's new TV show? posted by Ace Card on July 07, 2000 at 05:11:12:

: I asked about this over on Ben's board last week and got no nibbles. At that point it was kinda just asking if it was true. Now that we know it is true, what do you folks think about it (Kev included). Here is a quip from Newsweek to discribe it:
: "Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have their own version of reality, and last week they got the green light to produce 13 episodes of it for television. ABC picked up "The Runner," a reality show produced by the famous friends, to air next season. You could call it 'Survivor Celebrity Style': a sole contestant will attempt to cross the country, performing tasks while trying to avoid being recognized and captured by viewers. (How did Matt and Ben come up with this one?) The show's Web site will post hints of the contestants' whereabouts. Guess the boys figured they may as weel take advantage of all those inquiring minds."

: The first thing flying out of everyone's cake holes, mine included, is the likeness/dislikeness to Stephen King's (under the name Richard Bachman) book "The Running Man" (Note: This does not mean the movie that bares little or no resmeblance to the actual book aside from a few character names and the fact that a game show is somehow involved).

: Anyone got any opinions over here?
