In the books, Fletch has a really deep serious and introspective side. I don't think Norm McDonald could really do it justice (unless you want another heap'n helpin' of "Fletch Lives" slapstick crap)
I agree with others who have suggested Jason Lee. He has the right mix of comedy and drama that could do the literary version of Fletch justice.
