Finally sat down to watch the two and only two episodes of "clerks.: the cartoon series."
Got to give another shout out to my mother for snagging 'em whilst I was in transit (P.S.: She dug the show too...)
The complainers (especially the ones most verbose on this board) have only themselves to blame. The creative team didn't blast your expectations into the stratosphere; you did! Kevin, Mandel et al. were always forthcoming about what the show was aiming for...
Some legend-in-their-own-noodle cats should spend less hours-per-diem cheerleading ViewAskew and waiting to instead kick back and enjoy their work.
If you got one in every three references, I assure you that you've sat still for far lesser enterprises than this one...
Perhaps ABC was the wrong format, but the dead-horse has been whacked well-enough on this one. I say that a shitload of negative reviews for a blipvert-quick stint on ABC (actually, much of the shows humor seemed to blow by blipvert-style) than a fully-invisible run on UPN.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you for the Korean-animator bit of nihilism. Thank you for the "Stand By Me"-riff (poor fuckin' Skeeter, man!!) and thank you for Jay's soul-stealing coin-trick...and for Judge Rheinhold w/ Axel F....and Disco Granny...and for Joel Schumacher w/ nipples...and for the time they almost became priests ("...two men in less than a year!")
I assure you, I laughed...
