i just finished watching the Mallrats DVD with the commentary for the first time and I have to say that it made me very happy that my roomate bought a DVD player. watching the movie with the commentary on was like having movie stars in your living room watching with you, except they don't eat your food and smoke your buds.
if you haven't watched/listed to the commentary, take some time and watch it - it's rather entertaining.
