I was wondering what is considered "grand guignol" within the context of ViewAskew?
--Fucking a dead guy? (I'll be she knocked the hell outta his hemmorhoids!!!)
--Fucking in an elevator?
--Brutal stalag-like beatings in mall hallways?
--Shit-coated handshakes?
--Angels dropping humans and cardinals from high places?
Now that we know Dimension to indulge in other realms of unreality than just fantasy/horror/pseudo-sci-fi ("Boys and Girls" springs to mind), we know that "Mallrats" would fit right into their catalog.
That said, "DOGMA" has introduced fantasy into the ViewAskew oeuvre and I was wondering:
Though it will reputedly not necessarily be "heavy" (though I've noticed no one denying that there'll be anything artsy in ViewAskew V: The Final Frontier), any chance that fantastical elements will be omni-present in this new offering?
When I speak of "low-comedy fantasy" I'm not just referring to Silent Bob flinging himself into the void and spontaneously turning into Carmen in mid-crash, that's not my meaning...
For some reason, I sense (it must be The Force) that ViewAskew V will not only be the first ViewAskew film distributed by Dimension (as opposed to plain ole' Miramax), but that it'll suit the original Dimension in a way that "Mallrats" didn't.
How's that for an armchair theory?
(Gosh darn you, Smith, you've whetted even my usually-patient appetite. What's coming, damnit?)
