For anyone who's into making special effects for their films you cant go past this doozy little bit of software called Cinema 4d XL. I own the much scaled down budget $299 AUS "GO" version and its brilliant and value for money. The full XL release 6 version is about $1500 US and has a totally new interface and added extras like hyper nurbs ( check out the accompaning PDF files on how to make a detergent bottle ) and meta balls as well as a whole heap of stuff im yet to find. For any small digital production house this is an essential purchase.. but if you wanna try before you buy follow the below link ( to download click on the jumping man )....
For australian students wishing to get into animation 3D Studio MAX release 3 is available for educational purposes at an incredible $199. Ive never used the software but at that price, and considering its popularity, you cant go wrong.. hmm doesnt sound right when the spice girls are also popular. Unfortunatly 3D max is pc only so mac users will need virtual pc.
Does anyone know what software was used for the effects shots in DOGMA???
