I think ABC has one of the longest histories of shafting good programming this side of FOX. Fox tends to be especially hard on anything that's *not* a comedy, though. I don't know if ABC would've given Chris Carter or Tracy Torme the shit FOX did, but they tend to kill things in their prime, or just ruin them by restaffing the whole damn works until they end up with yes-men.

If there's any good news in this, maybe it means that you could cram all of the episodes onto one or two DVDs. Maybe do some commentary on them, with plenty of rippin' on the network... I can see that workin' out. God knows the discs would sell whether ABC got the series to or not.

Kevin's mention of 'X-Files' got me thinkin' about how the final decision on another season of that show is supposed to come down this week. I'm not sure how I feel about that just yet. I certainly think there's another year worth of good stories to be told. But, if they feel they're wearing down, it's their call.

As for 'The Simpsons'... recent comments made by Groening make me wonder if the plans on ending it for real next season. Though he'd alluding to such things in the past, he seemed fairly confidant when he said the show would get a lot of press in the next year. Why it would, I don't know, other than the possibility that it's all over. That's a damn shame, I say. Last night's routine with PBS was brilliant.
