Well, maybe not. Sometimes summer hits do happen. There was Millionaire last year, of course, and That 70s Show actually gained viewers during its summer run. And Seinfeld started as a summer run (though its numbers weren't very impressive at the time). So perhaps if it gets some decent numbers, it will live on. You never know. Television is a kooky biz. Back in Fall '93, I never NEVER would have guessed that this little Friday night sci-fi show about two FBI agents huntin' aliens that I had been catching would have made it to a second season, much less pop culture phenomenon-dom (that is so not a fucking word). So as Lenny Kravitz warbles soulfully, it ain't over till it's over, Cap'n. If Clerks does die a death, you can always shop it around to FOX, WB, or Comedy Central. Don't be so pessimistic. It's not your style.
At the very least, you know we'll all be watching. For as Lynch tells us regularly, we're all geeks and have no lives.
