Same situation with CD-R's, media's not too pricey but the recorders themselves are still a little expensive. Hasn't replaced cassettes yet as far as price goes.

DVD-R's already? Jeez, where have I been? I'm still getting used to having a DVD-ROM on my Mac. $4000 is probably why I haven't seen em yet, just a wee bit outta my price-range, which is the whole point of this thread! VCRs ain't going away anytime soon...
