: Kevin, I went to the Comic Book convention in L.A. today hoping to meet you. I've never gone to anything to meet anyone before and could care less about an autograph or a part in one of your movies. I don't even have a screenplay for you to look at. I was just hoping to see you and say: "You're the man bro!". Judging you by your movies you seem to be a very creative, intelligent cat. I was just hoping to shake your hand and say thanks. I'm thirty, my little brother is fourteen. Were you planning on coming? Were they frontin? Did they just say you were coming to get people to go? I went to the one last month in the same place and there was hardly anyone there. This one was packed and I know people were there to see you. You could hear everyone moan when we got to the door to buy our tickets and saw the "Kevin Smith has cancelled" sign. Just wanted to let you know we missed you man. Hope all is well with you and yours, Pete

Hey Pete,
I'm sorry you didn't hear the news earlier, because Kevin was confirmed as cancelled at least about five days before the actual event at the Shrine. I was planning on going too, but luckily I caught the news and was able to avoid a disappointing trip to LA. Yes, true believer, Kevin was indeed scheduled to attend the comic convention in LA to promote Clerks:The Cartoon Series, but he ended up cancelling because he had to work on the commentary for the Dogma DVD the same weekend over on the East Coast. He also got to hang out on the set of Saturday Night Live, which Ben Affleck was hosting. The good news for us West Coasters is that Kevin is scheduled to appear at the San Diego Comicon, which I believe is in July this year. Some friends and I went last year and we had a great time, and the only thing that would have possibly made it better was if Kev was there, so if I can afford it at all, I will definitely go again this year.
