those guys know how make a TV show, give folk artistic freedom, allow swear words, and market the hell out of it.
and now that LARRY SANDERS is over, they need a strong 30-minute "laffer" for their schedules.
and that way, we'd get to see it on Channel 4 in the UK, becuse they already have a strong relationship (we get to see the great OZ, the astonishing SOPRANOS and the okay Sex And The City - all for free!)
so why not see if ABC will sell it to the best network there is?
