I don't know much about television, other than all the behind-the-scenes dirt on THE REAL WORLD, and everything they throw out in NETWORK.
If there are a bunch of episodes in the can, and critics liked it, and there's a good buzz...can't you try to peddle your Clerks TAS-ass to other networks, even, horror of horrors, a cable network?
Imagine you're a freckle-faced red-headed middle school girl, and ABC is the guy who dated you on the tip that you would yield abundantly. Now this guy hears a different story, that you're the Virgin Queen, and that even the breasts are off limit. So the guy doesn't make much of an effort - he doesn't take her down into his basement, turn down the lights, put on a little soft music, nothing like that - he just goes for the nippled glory in a movie theater, and of course he's rejected, so he decides to dump you, the innocent, freckle-faced, red-headed middle school girl, who would actually put out if treated properly.
Just because this asshole guy didn't like you, that doesn't mean plenty of guys won't come around who see your inner beauty, who appreciate the REAL you, who don't just want your tit. Does it?
