Read all of this Please Askewers, it has Randal's wisdom straight from Kevin's mind at the end. It's a response to what these people said. I hope some people read this and think about it.
As an alumni of the University of Alabama, where Derrick Thomas attended and played his college ball, I just have to say this is not funny and just fucking cruel. It is not how Askew fans usually act, which is why I'm a little ashamed to have to write this. Derrick Thomas, besides being a 9 time Pro Bowler and Defensive Rookie of the Year, the All-Time Record Holder for Sacks at the University of Alabama, a Butkus Award winner for best college football linebacker, and the 1st ever linebacker drafted in the First Round of the NFL Draft, was a very good man. He was a hell of a great football player, so the Chiefs are NOT a better football team without him pal.
Furthermore he was a prime example of a good athlete-person. He dedicated a 1990 game on Veterans Day to his father, an Air Force Pilot killed in action in Vietnam. He had 7 sacks that game. He was also the N.F.L. Man of the Year in 1993 both for his play and his charity work and humanitarian efforts. He was also a husband and father. Isn't one of the themes in Dogma that we should be a little better to each other because God loves us all even when we make mistakes? Derrick didn't wear a seat belt, that was a mistake, but you shouldn't be ragging on him for that.
Fine you are right, he should have worn his seat belt, to quote Kevin speaking through Randal,
"I hope it feels so good to be right. There is nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?" Especially when they are dead and can't defend themselves anymore.
