Hi , Im kinda new to your work, having only discovered Mallrats a month ago. Up untill last week i would have said mallrats 2 would be a great idea.. now i'm not so sure. See, i bought Chasing Amy 2 weeks ago and to be honest i was expecting a film in the same vein, and im glad as hell to say that i didnt get it. Although they're both intelligent, funny movies, for me Amy had the edge. I havnt seen Clerks yet cos i cant find the damn thing in my area (is it still available in the uk?) so i cant comment on that and i've yet to see Dogma (although im planning to go next week) but i saw the trailer for it the other night and again, for me it seems such a leap from Amy, i cant wait!!! you the man, Kevin, and i LOVE your work and if you feel like making a sequel to one of your movies, obviously you have every right but man! When you make originals like thease why bother?
One of the things i like most about your work, is that you dont make the usual hollywood blockbuster-style movie-by-numbers, as much as i love Brodie and TS, Alyssa, Holden and Banky, Jay and Silent Bob... I dont need them to enjoy one of your movies, For me its the subject matter as much as the characters. personally i think id rather see you go forward.
but hey, what do i know? thanx for askin though.
