. . .Jersey.
Kev,
My two cents. . .
>> Everyone's suffering/recovering from headcolds
Take time off your feet, or the latest bugs will kill ya. BTW, there's a nasty strain of strep floating around here in Cali lately, so be careful when you're out (not epidemic, just common and easy to catch).
>> as I'm not really an actor
Give yourself a break. I doubt many actors could do as well as Silent Bob (deceptively easy-looking a role that may seem).
>> affords me the opportunity to include myself in a legacy of sorts.
You've had one. That's called the Jersey Trilogy. :)
>> Do you think it's a worthwhile endeavor to pursue doing a 'Mallrats'
>> sequel at Dimension?
I'm not sure. I have a hard time picturing that the previous characters would have a story to tell now. Visit the mall during a high school reunion, maybe? As much as I hate the long-delayed-sequels-that-use-other-characters trick, I'd almost wonder if a "new" Mallrats with younger characters (even with ties to the past flick) would work. People will probably shoot me for suggesting it (yeah, Carrie 2 and Children of the Corn 1000 come to mind), but I think the idea has merit and that you'd be one of the few who could pull it off.
>> I'm getting close to shutting down the View Askewniverse permanently
This is a WAY scarier thought. While I understand writing broader stories and moving away from the twenty-something slacker mythos, I'd hate to see you throw away the legacy you already have. You've asked who would want to see an aged Jay/Silent Bob. . . I don't know about Jay*, but I'd be interested to see how an older, wiser Bob turns out (I doubt he runs with Jay much past 35, maybe 40). Your "shutting down" could be taken to mean VA Productions, the site, etc. as well-- and I certainly would hate to see any of that!! (BTW, from a business standpoint, wouldn't moving away from your past legacy affect the "revenue stream" from merchandising, etc?? I know, what a horrid thought from my wannabe artiste soul).
In any case, thanks for the words & pictures :)
Pete
*Jay was the best part of Dogma, and nearly the best part of Scream 3 (I really dig Parker Posey chick lately for some reason)
btw. Jay is to Silent Bob as Luke is to Yoda.
