Kevin Smith,
Mallrats 2? Are you serious? THAT'S MY BIGGEST DREAM COME TRUE! For the last three months, ever since getting the Mallrats DVD, I have watched it pretty much daily. It's a genius movie. If it weren't for Mallrats, I wouldn't even know who Kevin Smith was. It was Mallrats that started it in 1997, then I saw Chasing Amy on Starz. At the time, I didn't know who you were, but Chasing Amy enthralled me, and I watched the whole thing. It was 11 o'clock, and I had school at 6 the next morning, but that didn't matter to me. Suffice to say, I almsot shit myself when I saw Jay and Silent Bob! I finally figured it out. Kevin Smith made both of these movies. I saw Clerks last month, and it was great. I'm still waiting to see Dogma, but of the Jersey Trilogy...Mallrats is and will continue to be my favorite. I don't know what it was about the movie. Was it Jason Lee's show-stealing performance as Brodie? Was it Jay and Silent Bob's hilarious antics? It doesn't really matter. But there is something about the movie. Kevin, if you make Mallrats 2, I will be there on opening night. I will see it multiple times, and I will DEFINITELY get it on DVD (if it is to come out on DVD). No doubt, releasing the movie under Dimension will make much more money than Gramercy ever did. I don't know about most people, but when I see that Dimension logo on my TV, I stop what I'm doing and see what's up. Kevin, please...PLEASE MAKE MALLRATS 2!
