Seriously, if the guy wants to say a film sucks, that's that. We have a little thing called an OPINION that we have a right to. Not only are you not respecting his right to an opinio, but you have the nerve to come on to HIS board and tell him that he sucks. Dude, you have some gall.

Aa, I'm so sick of all this Magnolia crap. We need a new board, 'toads!

: Granted, Smith is one of the best young writers in America.
CLERKS, but especially CHASING AMY and DOGMA were full of
hilarious and/or thought-provoking dialogue. MALLRATS just sucked
ass, though.

: BUT...

: Dude can't direct ! Dude can hardly hold a camera straight ! I
hate this sort of lazy, audience-insulting work. Okay, man, you
make independent (backed by Disney) films, sure. Does that man
you can't have a style ? Plenty of minuscule movies look amazing
: Reservoir Dogs, Swingers, Hard Eight, El Mariachi, Boys Don't
Cry, Leolo... You don't have to do like Smith and make your films
not only low-key but distractingly clumsy. That scene in CHASING
AMY where they play darts ; what kind of retarded direction is
that ? To give SMITH some credit, he seems to have tried to
better himself on DOGMA, a film flawed but well put together.

: SO, WITH SMITH BEING FAR FROM PERFECTION...

: How dare he attack MAGNOLIA, the most cinematically achieved
film of maybe the whole 90s ! I like Kevin Smith' movies, but
he's not even in the same league as Paul Thomas Anderson.
MAGNOLIA isn't self-indulgent : it's ambitious and dazzling and
wonderful.
