Hollywood abounds with stories of studios cutting important bits or dispicably huge chunks from films where the director didn't have final cut. no, check out Erik Von Stroheim's "Greed"-It was hacked to hell from his 5-hour masterpiece to under 2 buy Irving Thalberg. (and WHY do they have an academy lifetime achievement award named after this guy??? It just bugs me.) Anyway, that's my $0.02
